Influential Women

Help Us Celebrate Mother’s Day 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have cancelled our annual Mother’s Day Tea which honors local women activists. Inspired by suffragist poet Julia Ward Howe, an originator of Mother’s Day as a call to women’s activism, our live event is traditionally a fundraiser for local Democratic female candidates.

We remain committed to celebrating the influential women in our lives, particularly in this centennial year of the passage of the 19th Amendment granting women’s right to vote. As such, we invite you to to our virtual event showcasing some of our Democratic leaders and candidates as they recall stories of women who have inspired and influenced them, spurring them to act.

Please join in our effort by donating to this virtual event in tribute to an influential woman in your life! Should you so desire, your tribute will be posted on our website and Facebook page for all to see.

In addition to honoring a special woman in your life, your contribution will support Dutchess County Democratic candidates who are encountering stiff headwinds in their fundraising due to the impact of COVID-19. The upcoming 2020 election is the most important of our lives at every level.

Help us honor the great women of the past by supporting women candidates who will lead us forward to a better future.
